TOM STANDING AREI
LICENSED REAL ESTATE AGENT
ASSOCIATE OF THE REAL ESTATE INSTITUTE OF AUSTRALIA
After completing my education at Wesley College, I commenced my working career in real estate in Melbourne in 1966 with the Dalgety Property Department head office specialising mainly in very large rural properties. I completed the Real Estate Management Course at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology qualifying for a full real estate licence.
I then moved back to Traralgon in country Victoria and spent the next 25 years running the family livestock agency, establishing a substantial real estate agency and also a travel agency. During that time I conducted numerous auctions and also carried out various residential, rural and industrial subdivisions including the first non-government residential subdivision in Broome, Western Australia. While in Western Australia on real estate business I became a Director of a publicly listed gold and tin mining company situated at Friendly Creek between Marble Bar and Mount Newman and I also became a Director of a high technology railway testing company contracting to the major Western Australian mining companies and state and federal railways.
In 1990 opportunities in Melbourne beckoned so after rationalising the country agencies in Traralgon in Gippsland, I moved back to Melbourne and initially specialized in residential sales and residential auctions before moving into commercial and industrial sales, leasing and property management in 1996, based in Williamstown across the river from the Melbourne CBD.
I moved to Noosa in 2002 and in the last 16 years have concentrated my efforts on commercial and industrial sales and leasing in an area broadly ranging from Coolum to Maryborough. I have mainly specialised in Noosa and Gympie, operating as an independent contractor. I am also an experienced business broker and property manager.
My personal mantra of integrity and experience manifests itself in service, significant advice and positive results.
I have been a licensed real estate agent for 52 years, from 1966, and a commercial agent for 22 years, from 1996. Commercial sales, leasing and property management have been my main focus for the last 22 years, plus business broking and rural real estate. I have an interest in residential real estate due to extensive experience in the Melbourne market in particular auctions. I have retired as an auctioneer.
I mentioned significant advice. I don't charge for help and advice and there is no obligation if someone takes advantage of this service and many do. If you have a commercial or residential real estate problem chances are I have solved the same problem for someone else in the last fifty years.
I have found this an important source of new business and in retaining existing clients.
