Laguna Real Estate is celebrating another significant industry achievement after being named a finalist across five categories in the prestigious 2026 REIQ Awards for Excellence, led by its selection as a finalist for Large Residential Agency of the Year – the premier agency category and a major recognition of the strength and performance of the business as a whole.

The five finalist categories are:

Large Residential Agency of the Year

Multi-office Network of the Year

Regional Residential Agency of the Year – Laguna Real Estate Gympie

Business Development Manager of the Year – Kellie Drinnan

Agency Support Person of the Year – Penny Choyce

Established in Noosa in 1978, Laguna Real Estate has grown from a single local office into a four-office network servicing communities from Noosa through to Gympie. Today, more than 29 staff work across residential sales, property management, holiday letting, commercial property and new developments.

As a proudly independent agency, Laguna’s success is particularly significant in an industry increasingly dominated by large national and international franchise groups. Remaining independent has allowed Laguna to retain its strong local identity and community focus while continuing to compete at the highest level of Queensland real estate.

Being named a finalist for Large Residential Agency of the Year is particularly significant, recognising Laguna’s overall business performance, customer service, leadership, professional development, marketing, innovation and operational standards.

The Multi-office Network of the Year nomination acknowledges the strength of Laguna’s four offices working collaboratively across the region, while the Regional Residential Agency of the Year finalist recognition highlights the continued success and growth of Laguna’s Gympie office.

Two long-standing team members have also received individual recognition. Kellie Drinnan, with 20 years at Laguna and decades of real estate experience, has been named a finalist for Business Development Manager of the Year, recognising her contribution to the continued growth of Laguna’s property management division.

Penny Choyce has been named a finalist for Agency Support Person of the Year, adding to an exceptional career of more than 15 years with Laguna. Penny previously won this category at the 2021 REIQ Awards for Excellence.

Laguna Real Estate Principal Olivier Miller said the five finalist honours were a reflection of the collective effort behind the agency’s continued success.

“I am incredibly proud of our entire team and congratulate everyone on their continued contribution, commitment and performance. To have Laguna recognised across five categories is a wonderful achievement and a reflection of the dedication our people bring to the business and our clients every day,” Principal, Olivier Miller said.

The REIQ Awards for Excellence recognise outstanding achievement, best practice and high performance throughout Queensland’s real estate profession.

For Laguna, the five finalist announcements continue a proud history of industry recognition. Since 2002, the agency and its people have now been formally recognised by major industry awards on 72 occasions, including winning the REIQ Large Residential Agency of the Year in 2020.

To be recognised across agency, network, regional and individual categories in the same year is an achievement that reflects the dedication of Laguna’s entire team and the ongoing support and trust of its clients and local communities.

The winners of the 2026 REIQ Awards for Excellence will be announced at the Gala Awards evening at The Star Brisbane on Saturday, 31 October.

For now, being named among Queensland’s best across five categories is already something worth celebrating.
